SMASHED TO PIECES/PRELUDE
Thank you for continuing with me to the end of the album. In this last post, I revisit the first track from the album, Smashed to Pieces, with a recap of the live performance video below. This piece abandons all the geometric inspiration from the other pieces on the albums, and instead speaks to the emotional core that connects humanity. The final piece from the album, Prelude, is written for solo viola and electronics and serves as the bridge between this album and my next album, which combines vintage recording technology, beautiful instruments, and the newest technologies in digital electronic music.
In today’s Bonus track, hear an electronic remix of the piece Smashed to Pieces. This piece, REassembly, uses the same chords and melodies from the 1st track, but reinvents this music in a frenetic, thundering mass of electronica.

OBLIQUE/ELLIPSE
Finally, I share with you 2 more tracks from the album, Oblique and Ellipse. Oblique was the first piece we recorded on the album, and it is inspired by a basic idea of two lines slanting away from each other. Ellipse is based on the musical idea of a round. A simple idea is presented in the opening bars, and then this motif is passed around the group as it develops and expands.
