Grace
Grace is the first electro-acoustic work on the album, making use of looping technology to create an ambient background texture. It is primarily a duet for viola/piano until an astounding violin solo rises from the harmonic texture 2/3 of the way into the piece.
The viola has a 16th note figure which is “looped” after a few bars. (Check out Lev’s complex looping pedal board in the video below!) This loop develops over the course of the piece using delays, reverbs, and electronic processing to create an ethereal harmonic backdrop.
This piece is meant to capture the essence of beauty and grace. It has a feel similar to a wedding processional, and my wedding to my wife Nicki Sizemore stands out to me as the epitome of grace and elegance.

Put Myself Together Again
This piece was inspired by an epic fantasy tale by author Jessica Swan Although the story is still in development, you can hear a preview of some music inspired by the story in this piece, which is meant to capture the feeling of Catharsis.
A video of the notated score is below, which allows you to see how the music’s rhythm and harmony is developed to create this arc of ultimate achievement. You can also hear the computer demo of the piece to get a sense of the piece’s development.
