These were the first 2 pieces that I wrote on this album, and are very personal pieces to me. I was going through a hard time in my career and was frustrated with the gatekeepers that control my industry. I wrote these 2 pieces as simple palette cleansers to renew my enjoyment of composition. These 2 pieces then inspired the idea of writing an album. Both pieces are a chorale like meditation on a simple idea. The subtle shifting of time signatures evokes the image to the left.
